Valenti #20 Arrived Today

Well my custom Valenti #20 arrived today. I have been playing it for the last couple of hrs. it has ton, tone and more tone.
I have however been playing it in single coil mode for the most part. The wenge neck is smooth and fast, a little thick at first but that's compared to my F Bass, which I play 90% of the time. Overall it feel quite comfortable.
Nino did an excellent job, I think it's absolutely gorgeous.
I need to go play it some more, but I'll be sure to give a review once I become more familiar with the electronics on it.
I case you don't know here are the specs:
Swamp Ash body
Swamp Ash body with Natural finish
Wenge Neck with black laminate headstock face
Wenge Board
Nordstrand DC5’s Dual Coil pickups
Aguilar OBP-3
Black Hardware
Hipshot A Style Bridge
Hipshot Ultralites Tuners
Schaller Strap Locks
Strings Sadowsky Bright Nickel

The bass has what has become know as the Poon layout:
1-Volume w/p/p for preamp bypass
2-Blend
3-Treble w/p/p for Neck position P/U for Humbucker mode to Single Coil mode
4-Mids with w/p/p for Mid Shift
5-Bass w/p/p for Bridge position P/U for Humbucker mode to Single Coil mode

Here are some pics: [IMG][/IMG]

Thanks Nino for a job well done....

Not sure if I like the black headstock but it's still a gorgeous instrument.

Now step away from the computer and GO PLAY!

Beautiful bass.

He does such clean work top to bottom.

Like Warmoth? No. Warmoth. And wiring the pickups to meet customer needs seems to me to be a bit more than just assembly.

Check out his site and see what he has done. He has talent.

Nino uses both Warmoth and USACG depending on what the customer wants. He assembles to spec, wiring to spec, and one hell of a setup.

Excellent basses, much better than most could do.

One of the nicest basses I've seen in a long time.

I'd like one just like it but four string and freless.

As with all Nino's stuff, it is simply wonderfull. Wenge neck, MMMMmmmmmmm......

As to the "just the assembly" comment, that's the important part.

One question:

what holds the control cover on???

My guess would be that Nino took the picture before drilling the holes to hold it on. If it were held on by magnets, you'd see them.

My favorite Valenti's are the natural ones. They look so clean. Nino goes great work.

Beautiful instrument! The layout of the knobs and their functions seems very logical. I suspect it sounds as good as it looks...

Makes sense, hadn't thought of that.
