Hi all,
I finally got it done. It should arrive on Friday. I will be GAS'ing until then. Here are the pics that Harris sent me:

Harris' work is unbelievable.
It really made my LB70PF come to life and added a whole new depth to it's tone.
I'm sure you will love it ^_^

Yeah, I saw your Carvin for sale. Now I have to work on getting a fretted...
I think this is a very respectable mod since there aren't a lot of great budget fretlesses out there...

That's amazing! The SR500 is a great b ass as it is, and HG Thor is amazing!
I'd love to get a Thor'd SR506.

Speaking of Harris, how many of us have Thor'd basses? Maybe enough to start our own thread?

Did you defret that bass or are SR-500 available as fretless?

He defretted it. Ibanez only offers one fretless bass these days, and its not a 500.

Yes... indeed. There are only 3 Ibanez fretless models...
The SR300F (which is not as good as the 500's and up), and the two Gary Willis'... the GWB35, and the GWB1005.
I wanted to get a good fretless for under a grand but I was upset at how many companies don't offer fretless models. I didn't want a MIM Jazz so the epoxy mod is a nice touch.
The 300 is about $300, the GWB35 is $600 and the GWB1005 is a staggering $3000.
Harris defretted the bass, then did his special epoxy treatment. He also restrung, did a set up and intonation, so I'm ready to go!

i know the HG Thor jobs carry quite hefty prices, so did the bass + defret + epoxy still land you under $1000? i'm guessing it was close.

Far from it, my friend. $385. The bass usually goes for $580, but I worked at a music store where I got it for $400, so yeah; the whole process was well under a grand. But, at least I know that my fretless is going to last forever...!

The Thor'ing isn't so much costly as it is timey... the process takes a long time.

You know it man... I sent my axe to him June 5th, and I'm getting it on Friday. But for a complete defretting and epoxy treatment. It is worth the wait. I'd rather have the quality work which he is so known for.

How long were you on the wait list before he could get to you? I've considered this before, but I think his site said that his waiting list was approximately 2 years or something ridiculous like that last time I checked.
