SX (essex) Bass Club

It's been decided that it's time to start an SX Bass Club over in part 4 of the Megathread.

So if you want to join the club, just add SX Club Member in Good Standing to your sig and you're in. I think this self service approch is apporpriate as a lot of us SX people are Do It Yourself types.

No numbers will be assigned as it's not in the clubs budget (Sarcasm)

Feel free to post as many pics as you like.

My SX Scorpion

Currently at work but my SX Scorpion is in this pic, I'm at work so this is the only pic I have in my office "puter". The first a few SX Basses I have planned. Hopefully Kurt will get some cool colors in.

My backup bass is an SX SJB-62 five string without frets. My main bass is also from Rondo.

HA! No! The Cheesburger pic is with the Fender, not the SX.

I dropped a NOS Dimarzio DM2 (like the dan armstrong basses) in an SX p-ho. What a stealth bomber!
Everyone who plays it tries to buy it off my lap, one of the loudest passive P bass pick-ups ever. Crappy picture from my phone, the burst is much more even than it appears, but the bookmatch is every bit as bad, lol.

Took a lot of fret dressing to eliminate the meat grinder edges, but other than that it is solid, and seems to be holding shape 3 years in.

Still needs a tort guard! Anybody got one?

I've mentioned quite a few times that I'm not entirely happy with a build problem my SX has and that I was surprised by Rondo's lack of willingness to work it out with me.

That being said, I've also said that even though my SX has more growl than I'd like in a fretless, I really do like the way it sounds. In fact, I'm surprised that I like the sound of a $129.99 bass this much. I've also been playing it a lot more lately while I try to get more comfortable on a fretless and it seems to be paying off.

SX SJB-62 4+1 Fretless:

I know the hardware looks gold but it's not. It's chrome, it's just that the low lighting and reflections make it look gold.
