FENDER THINLINE TELE BASS IN BLUEBURST!!!!
[BI am selling my Blueburst Thinline Bass. Most of us already probably already know quite a bit about this bass so I'll be brief.
It's in really really excellent condition. I hesitate to use the word "mint" because it's scary, but it's as close to that as a bass can get. It's one of the highest quality modern Fenders out there.(beefy bridge, strings through body, beautiful wood grain, nice tuners etc....)
I put a Duncan Quarter Pound Jazz pickup in it, which does sound a bit better to my ears. You can either buy the bass as is, or if you prefer, I will reinstall the original Japanese Fender pickup. It's your choice.
I'm selling the bass for $950.00 For $950.00, I will ship the bass to you in a much better padded gig bag than the bass was in when came to me.(it comes with a really terrible fabric cover.) I'd prefer Paypal, but I could be persuaded to pursue other avenues for payment.
Cheers
BB

Wow--where have I been? I've never seen one of these before! What year was it made? And how does it sound?

I'm not exactly sure what the production year is, but from what I've heard Fender Japan didn't make these for very long.(I've read sometime around 2000, and ending sometime around 2004) So, they don't come around too often. You might find 3 or 4 at most per year on Ebay.
It sounds pretty cool. It's kind of a nice middle ground between a P bass and a Hofner. It definitely has the character of a hollowbody, but the jazz pickup keeps things clear enough that you can use it in quite a few different situations.
And, it looks amazing. People always ask me what it is, where they can get one, and why they haven't seen one before.

I used to have one of these, it's a wonderful bass. MIJ TNB-110 SPL. Those production years are about right. The nut is 1.5 like a jazz neck. Reverse tuners. The build quality, fit, and finish on these is excellent and at least equal to MIA.
Someone will be very happy with this rare bass!

Man, wish I could justify buying another bass right now!
That thing looks like a real dub machine . . . . very cool.

I have one of these in this blue finish. When I heard they quit making them I got ahold of Ishibashi and tried to get one in three tone burst but they only had one left and it was the trans blue burst finish so I took it. I've always been a lover of the vintage burst finish but I gotta tell ya, this blue is really cool. It seems to change color in different light and the finish is metalic so in in certain light you pick up alittle sparkle. Hard to describe it. I wasn't disappointed that I didn't get the burst I originaly wanted. The build on these is first rate and the sound is thick and strong but controlable. These were never exported so there's not many in the US.
The bridge pup on these is (according to the specs I read on Ishibashi's site) is a US vintage. I replaced mine as well. I put a Bart dual coil in mine.

Yeah she's a real beaut. Regarding trades, I'd like to sell this thing outright if I can. Once this thing is gone it could be quite some time before the opportunity to own one comes along again. Somebody pony up!
