Hi Steve and Micheal. I really enjoy both of your responses to all the various questions.

Here's my situation. I'm fifteen and I started playing bass about a year ago. Since then, I've become sort of obsessed (Its my depression)! I truly enjoy playing for hours, but often I get very frustrated or depressed when a challenge comes along that is hard at first. Another one of my problems is that although I've put in so many hours, when I have to play for my teacher, I seem like a complete idiot. And in so doing that, I'm treated like a lesser level student, which I know to be untrue. Finally, I'm trying to become the best bassist I can be (maybe even the best ever) and I've sacrificed many things, including about ten pounds, watching tv, staying on the computer for reasons beside research, and sleep. Can you guys help me?!??
