1983-84 Musicman Cutlass I (Stingray) Factory Graphite Neck **RARE**
This bass is my Baby! I bought her in 1986.
I would NEVER sell this bass , but I need to raise $$ to finance a new business. It is in excellent condition, all original, and even has the felt pads (mutes) at the bridge. I don't think you will find many 1983-84's in this good of condition - normal dings and normal scuffing at the back and pickguard. Very minimal fret wear. The case is original (orange felt inside) and is in excellent shape inside and good shape outside. The bass has tons of punch, cuts through very well live, and has unbelievable chord and tappings sounds. If this is what you want, I wouldn't let someone else get this baby. $2,100.00 or best offer

Cool bass! But per the forum rules, you need to include an asking price in your ad.

Whoever buys this is going to love it! Bump for the first Cutlass I can remember seeing here. (From a Cutlass II player -- more-or-less GAS-free since finding my once-in-a-lifetime rarity in 1994.)

Oh My.... If I didn't just pull the trigger on a 78 Jazz bass, I would buy it.

The Cutlass was the top of the line, above the vintage Stingray and Sabre everybody knows about. But they were too expensive to sell well.
Very, very few were made, just a few hundred altogether. Fewer still are in the condition yours is. (Mine is missing its stock pickups for example, although I honestly don't care; I am not a collector anyway. It has been my main instrument for almost all of the last 15 years with Bartolinis in it and I will never sell it.)
Cutlasses in original condition seldom go up for sale. A stay-in-tune vintage bass with no truss rod. Fender-meets-Modulus.
Close this thread and find something else to sell, while you still can!!

Oh man, making me think about getting a four again! If I weren't broke (yeah, I know, everyone says that). I would trade a couple cars for it though!
Serious note though, that is an awesome bass. As a fan of a lot of 80s music, I bet there are quite a few tonal options that thing could do... that cutting 'Ray tone with a little bit of Steinbergeresque clarity. Makes me wish, you know. Plus, that one is clean looking and is just going to appreciate in value.
I'd say don't sell it, but I know how times are, so... free bump anyway.

As an owner of one myself (though natural finish and string-through body), I can tell you these are outstanding and exceedingly rare.
