Part 5! Not too shabby. Reverend: the little bass that could..
I need to take some new pics. Here's old ones for the time being. The Blue JJ is bass #47 and I've had it for 10 1/2 years. The gold PJ might be the nicest bass I've ever owned and has pretty much killed my G.A.S. for anything else. Thanks, Gary!

Part 5!
Here's an old action shot of me with the Dawgfish:
And lastly, a pic of the whole school:
As much as I've wanted to "thin the herd," I just can't seem to force myself to release one or two back into the pond. How's that for a mixed metaphor?
BTW: nice pair, Dave! I love the look of the gold PJs.

woo hoo! part 5
scored a turquoise JJ for the kid who wanted one. Just got here. If he decides he doesn't like the color I may try to keep it.

I love the Turquoise color on fish. That's sharp!
As for my BH5, the sad thing is that I haven't played it in months. I'm mostly a four-string guy these days due to the classic rock band I'm in. I think I've always been a four-string guy at heart too.
But I do love that Houser. It might end up as the only five-string I keep.

Well, he just left. Loves the color. If he doesn't like the JJ sound, I hipped him to the idea of XL wiring or getting another guard and Rev P pup to swap in.

Weird thing happened when I was re-string the new bass. As I put on the D string and started tuning it up, the little plastic washer between the top of the tuning key and the shaft cracked and flew across the room. The tuner still works, but not smoothly. Can't seem to find the Gotoh website, just retailers. Anyone have a clue where I can get washers?

post a pic of your tuner: i have several extra from replacing with hipshots.
if it's a match, cover postage and it's yours.

Camera is at my sister's place right now. I have another tuner, the one I took off to put on my hipshot. I'll probably throw it on until I can find a washer. Or I'll send you postage if it turns out to be a pain in the butt.

My only complaint about Reverends is that the stock tuners are pretty lame. My BH5 has the upgraded tuners, but it's the only one with them. One of the tuners on my 5L is not doing really well, but I don't play it much so it's OK for now. All of the other ones on my fish are fine but don't feel very sturdy.
The hipshots are MUCH better than the stock Gotoh (or whatever they are).
Classy move to offer Matt some help there, Chef.
BTW, I finished putting together my ultimate lightweight rig and posted a thread with some pics in the amps section. The fish sound incredible through it.

Of course after I bought this bass for the kid a couple others have turned up for less money. Oh well, he's happy with it.
I've never had any trouble with the stock tuners before this happened.
