This one has been around the block a few times but certainly doesn't show it! I picked it up a few weeks ago so I could experience the Alembic vibe firsthand. It lives up to the hype but...get this....I hate the pickup spacing. Okay, actually the lack of spacing as its a single pickup model. Old habits die hard; I miss having a bridge oriented pup as a thumbrest. Here's the dope:

*5 piece maple neck w/ walnut stringers, 34", 24 frets
*Pau ferro fingerboard, 18 mm spacing center-to-center
*Adjustable brass nut (an under-appreciated bonus IMO)

*Ash body (spec. sheet says maple but it sure looks like ash to me)

*Dual truss rods, adjustable at heel

How's $1450 + 1/2 shipping sound? I'm also on the lookout for a replacement 5 banger, preferably one with J/J, J/MM, or SB/SB pickup configuration. I'd also like to keep the weight below 9 lbs. if possible. Stuff I know I like: Pedulla, Elrick, Lakland, Sadowsky, Zon, Hanewinckel (!), Dingwall, etc. As always, cash +/- for the right deal. You won't find a cleaner Alembic for the money!
