Ohhhhh, yeah! I get to post near the start of one of these threads! I feel so priviledged!
On a less excitable note: I really, really wish Lakland would build a sixer. I want a six again so bad, but after playing Laklands for the last few years I just can't see playing any other make. Maybe they could make a "65-94, or a 65-09". All I want in this world is a six string version of my 55-94's.
I guess it's just wishful thinking at this point.......

Ok, so the promised can of worms ;-)
I've never played or really heard a CS bass (save for the samples on the Lakland site). So today I listened to the samples again, particularly to the JOCS and JO, flats and rounds.
To say the truth, as heard online, I think I like the "regular" singles more than the CS It may be the computer speakers or something... To me, the CS samples sound more "shallow" and "flat", maybe "neat" whereas the singles have those accented jazzy "bumps"...
Please tell me if I'm wrong.

I would never say that you're wrong, but that is NOT what I hear at all. Check your computer speakers or get some nice headphones for it.

.....feels like Deja vu.....
But, yeah!!!!!!!!
My Spector Euro DLX 6er, as wonderful as it is, just doesn't have the neck that I love = Lakland.

I feel like I may agree with you, Denchiq.
The Chi's seem to have more PUNCH, and a boom frequency that reaches lower to awesome sub-sonic depths, but the regular Single-coils retain more overall warmth and aggressive high-end, it seems.
This was the main reason I decided against Chi'ing up my DJ.
Wish I could AB them myself.

Jedi-
I've tried soooo many sixers and I liked MTD's the best but I'm not going to pay more (up to twice as much) cash for an MTD when all I am going to be truly wishing for is a Lakland 6er. I don't like the look or feel of anything other than a 55-94 neck and body. To me it's the perfect blend of aesthetic and functionality, confection and versatility. I can't find a 6 on the market that I can say the same about for my personal tastes.

Yep!
But, would you want 19mm bridge spacing?

Why not? I played a Ken Smith 6er that felt every bit as wide at the bridge as that. It was great.

Yeah, I think 19 would be great too, kinda hard to find so I've never had the luxury of trying one.

My last warrior 6 had 19mm and it was perfect.

I'm pretty sure the MTD six I played was 19 mm. I absolutely loved the spacing, and that didn't feel any closer for my right hand than my Laklands.

Well.... I think the closest we'll get would be to send our non-Lakie 6ers to Carl to have the necks reshaped.

Ya know, it is kinda funny. I switched to lakland (I was playing all warriors at one point) becasue they were awesome, especially in the skyline...when you consider the pricepoint it is even better. Now I am realizing that most of the options I "WANT" (not need) I cannot get in a skyline...a 5 string P, binding and blocks on traditional J body, 6 string....oh well. Unfortunately a collection of US's are not in the financial cards either....
