I wouldn't bid on stuff willy-nilly, unless I actually needed, or wanted the item. I'm sure that 100 bucks could've been spent better, but at least it's not alot of dough, and the bass is a bass.

heck yeah
You can hold on to it for awhile and mod it
save a few more bucks and slap a Mighty Mite fretless neck on it
and you got a nice looking fretless if you want to test those waters
or you can just use it as a beater for some "mojo"
let it get banged up etc,.
I recently bought a Squier and trasnformed it from this

that's about the average price on that item used, my question is how do you accidentally bid on an item on ebay? its not like you bid and it goes through. It asks you to confirm the bid. To be honest it sounds to me like you were messing around with pricing hiking on people who honestly wanted to buy it and it bit you in the butt.

It could be a really fun project bass. Sand it down, paint it yourself, learn to level frets, file nuts, solder wires.
Here's how I decide whether to pick up a cheap bass on eBay or CL, et cetera: How does this compare to the cheapest SX of the same type? That can be subjective, but I think there are enough objective observations that can be made that it's a worthy benchmark. I'll leave that to you, though, because I'm afraid I've already harshed your mellow. (Not to mention the SX cliche. Sorry.)

you can't accidentally do anything on ebay.
what the others said, you bought it now you own it play it as-is, or dump a couple hundred more into it and make it truly a nice unit you will keep for a while.

I hate it when you click the buy button and then the confirm button by mistake.
Good job the wife always believes me that it's an accident!
I will add that I had an idiot do this to one of my auctions recently. He had a similar excuse "I didn't think I would win it". Come on, what sort of excuse was that: "I didn't think the gun was going to go off when it was pointed at the bank tellers head"!
I will say that the bloke offer to cover my fees/etc. if I let him out of it, which I did (nice guy!). Of course the next fellow who bought it was the 'customer from hell' who asked about 100 questions post sale and then paid with a PayPal check and complained that I wouldn't send the guitar to him before the check cleared! He then complained the action was high when he got the guitar - seems he didn't know what a truss rod was for, etc., etc., etc.
Anyway, enjoy your new bass!

my point exactly. people that bid just to bid ruin it for those of us who look for decent equipment on the budget.

Off thread, but I tell her I'll stop buying basses/guitars "that I don't need" when she stops buying shoes "that she doesn't need".
I'll be buying for a while for sure!
