Tell me what my guitar is--please?

Background: I was thinking about getting a guitar, to expand my musical horizons. I went on over to the thrift store and surprise! There one was, in perfect condition, except for the rust, and the dust, and the dirt, and all the chips...yeah it was a piece. But hey, it was only $45. It sounded all right unplugged, and the neck was straight, so I said, "Why not?"

Anyway, the problem is I have no idea who made it! It looks like a Strat copy, except the botton has a groove instead of being rounded like strats are. It's in 3-tone sunburst and has 2 single-coil pickups. 2 switches and 2 pots. It says "audition" on the headstock, but I can't find a brand name or serial number anywhere. It looks like it's from around '65 to '75, judging from how worn it is and the dust. I will have pictures in about a week from now--right now it's being given a new nut(the old one had fallen off). So, anybody know who made it?

PS I forgot to mention, I already checked ebay and did a search on google with no luck.

"Audition" is probably the brand of your guitar, not the model - I have a classical "Audition" guitar. They're guitars one could order from a warehouse catalogue.

Your guitar looks exactly the way I had expected! Very similar to the one Robert Smith of The Cure used to play in the very beginning of the band's career. His was a "Top 20" from Woolworth's, though. @ Melf

Nah, mine is completely different. Like I said, it's a classical (= acoustic) guitar with nylon strings.
Robert Smith's guitar that I mentioned looks very similar to yours, though:

Maybe you should do a poll about it ?????

Do you know what my guitar is??

1-
2- Crap?
3- that guitar did World War 1?
4- A piece of plywood?
5- or Wood to burn ???

It is probably some mid 60's from a taiwanese company that decided to build guitar 'cause there was some money to do with it...
