I (we) started in September 2013. My, then, 7 year old daughter had chosen the DB as "her instrument". I decided it would be best if we took lessons together for at least the first year so I could help her at home. Gradually I became very enthusiastic myself about this "huge fiddle" and bought myself a bass.
Since September 2014 my daughter, also still in love with the DB, and I take separate lessons (with the same teacher) in which I mainly focus on arco, classical music and getting the basics in order.
In november 2014 I started in a local amateur symphonic orchestra which I find very, very hard but also very educational and great fun! Together with my daughter I also play in a students ensemble of the same orchestra. In March 2015 I also started in a small jazz students group.
