1. Welcome to TalkBass 2014! If you're new here, we just went through a major site upgrade. Please post all concerns and bugs to the Forum Usage Issues forum. We will be monitoring that forum. Thank you for all of your feedback.

The TalkBass iphone/android app is NOT WORKING currently. We're working on it. Tapatalk IS working, so if you need to use an app, use Tapatalk. Try using your browser though - TalkBass is now 100% responsive to your phone/tablet screen size ;)

Please read the TalkBass 2014 FAQ for lots of great info on the new software.

    Birthday:

    Location:

    Current Setup:
    Basses
    ------------
EBMM Stingray Classic 4 (2011, rare '56 blue)
    Rickenbacker 4003 (mid-90s, Jetglow)
    '62 Fender Precision Reissue (2002)
    Fender Jazz ('93, "Boner")
    '62 Hofner (bought used mid-90s)
    Acoustic Upright (2009)

(as you can see, I have a very iconic collection. I'm missing a couple more iconic basses. Can you guess what they are? :))

    Guitars
    ------------
    Fender Stratocaster
    Martin Acoustic

    Misc. Stringed instruments
    ------------
I also have two banjos (yes, I play banjo) :)

    Amps
    -----------
Fender TB-1200. An amazing amp that Fender does not make anymore. This amp was discontinued in 2012. Bad marketing and high price kept this one from becoming a classic. This amp can do everything! I can get deep and thumpy, high and poppy, warm and grindy! ;) This amp can literally produce any sound you want with a total of 1200 watts! The only downside is that it weighs about 35 lbs. A bit heavy but well worth it! I just bought a rack case with an arm strap and I transport it that way. Definitely worth its weight in gold! :)

    Cab(s)
    -----------
fEARful 15/6/1 w/Fender cloth grill. Looks great! But most importantly, it has a killer sound! Very clean with no coloration, and VERY loud! It pairs surprisingly well with the TB-1200. This cab weighs about 60 lbs. It's a bit heavy, but like the TB-1200, it's worth the schlepping around. The sound is phenomenal!

Strings (my preferred gauge is light)
    -----------
    Flats:
Pyramid Gold (warmest flats they make)
    TI Jazz Flats (musically unique)
Sadowsky Black Label (surprisingly well rounded)

    Rounds:
DR Sunbeams (4 and 5 string sets. These are my fav rounds)
EB Super Slinky (underrated and overlooked)
    <still testing rounds>

    Effects
    -----------
    Empress Compressor
    Xotic XBlender
    Way Huge Swollen Pickle
    Barker ASSMASTER
    Melekko EKKO 616
    Iron Ether Nimbus

    Recording
    -----------
    FL Studio 11
    M-Audio 610 (audio interface)
Sterling ST77 with pop filter and shockmount
    Propellerhead Reason
    Various VST plugins

    Misc.
    -----------
Headstock vibration-based tuners (I love these things! My favorite is Intellitouch PT10 mini)
String Dampener (great for slapping and tapping)
Wrist band to reduce the sweat from ruining my basses :)

Pop, Alternative, Funk, Rock, and many more...
