Pros: Cool retro look, awesome warm groundshaking sound, pre-amp valve
Cons: Hi-freqs doesnt sound THAT good with so big speaker, but it\\\'s NOT bad though

I was looking for a good, bigsounding combo and i tried Ampegs, Fenders and Hartkes and when i tried Ashdown it was like WOW! I didnt even think about other combos after this beauty.

It has cool blend of solid state and dual triode tube preamps stages which can be preset and selected by footswitch, it will give u a tube-like warm or crunchy sound and you when you turn the knob to the east-south, you get masculine overdriven rock growl!

The EQ is good, with both actions: knobs and slides, and you can turn the eq off (even with footswitch too)
This amp sounds Big Fat Warm and Punchy.Even With the EQ set flat!

And i can tell you, there is enough power to shake your whole house!
When you want to really feel the power, put the Sub-harmonics tool on ( which precisely tracks the main signal and reproduces it an octave lower), A sub-harmonic level control enables the player to add just the right amount of low-end reinforcement, everything from a subtle, thickening of the sound to unbridled, bone crushing tone.

The construction has been done well, solidly built, but not back-breakingly heavy like some bass combos I\'ve owned, with good handgrips, and nice leather on. The one thing i love this machine is the retro-look with VU-meter, which is doing it\'s business well. Sometimes it gets stuck, but very seldom. Just turn the power off and its ok again.

You can add another speaker under it too, and im thinking of ashdown 2x10 to get more HI-frequensies, but i can live with it without the extra cabinet too.

Many prefer this even to Ampeg svt, and i think so too. You dont have to replace the old tubes, its cheaper, almost the same sound, and its lighter too. I think this is the best amp for me.If youre looking for a good professional combo, buy this; it suits for Rock, jazz, RnB and whatever you can imagine. Maybe i buy a 500w model some day...
