For the money, the Roadgear is an excellent bass. It is contructed studily, as many bumps and knocks have prooved to have little effect on it. It stays in tnue reasonably well. Tone wise, the bass has a decent range, and can do rounder, smoother sounds using the front jazz PU, which is not growly like many jazz pickups. It can also perform more growly tones using the humbucker, with many options in between. The EQ's treble control is good for rolling off to get a darker, fatter sound, but usually causes large amounts of hum when boosted. I find taht the bass control is only really useful when using poor quality or small amplifiers. It has a reasonably quicky neck, which is perhaps a little large for my tastes, but is till very playable. I would recomend this bass to begining players, looking for a low cost bass that can do a wide range of styles in an admrible manner.
