Don't come in a 5 string set, Poor life (update)
|
|
These are just standard nickel rounds, something I like. Their sound is something like a cross between D'addarios and Ernie Balls, slightly brighter then your average nickel round. Since they have 2 sets in every pack you always have a set of extra strings if you need it.
The only bad thing I have to say about these strings is that they don't come in a 5 string set.
(edit) Though they initially had a good sound, they died very quickly. Within a week the strings became deadened to the point where they could not be used for anything.
Besides their very poor life, these strings could be worse.

Pros:

Good solid nickel tone, decent tension, great value

Nothing to speak of

These strings deserve better than a "6", IMHO. I've purchased a number of the two-set packs, and find them to be perfectly suitable for "meat & potatoes" applications. IME, they provide good consistent tone and decent longevity - especially considering how inexpensive they are. At this price, you can afford to stock up, and simply replace 'em whenever needed. A great value...
