Pros: Looks rugged,sound "full"
Cons: Looks abit chevy, tacky, trackings not outstanding

I brought a digitech bass synth,I highly rate that and loved the sub octaver althou tracking could go astray however I wanted to save the digi for the bigger FX its capable of and basscentre.co.uk has the Ashdown on offer so I went for it.

The VDU had come loose in the post but wasnt worth a return 4 the sake of some glue, its well built otherwise but I think looks a little too marshall /americanized tacky.

You can add distortion to the lower octave and balance between original signal and effected although its not as clean cut as you may think but to be honest for £60 its worth it but for a £100 I think not, takes up abit of FX case room also.

Pros: provides an especially natural suboctave for analog, looks cool
Cons: tracking poor when playing fast. mediocre distortion

I gotta admit, this pedal provides a very nice NATURAL suboctave tone, which is rare for ana analog - most sound synthy. This doesn't.

I didn't have problems with the tracking unless I played really fast. It's probably possible to adjust your playing style to track better but why?

The distortion/drive, restricted to the low end, is tame as heck. Disappointing if you want to get crazy with this thing, but actually fairly well-suited to the more natural sound this provides at moderate levels.

I can imagine this working for some people, but I needed some more range of possibilities so I went digital for my sub and octave needs (horror!).

The meter is only useful if you've got active electronics in your bass, but it actually looks pretty cool. Americanized? Like Marshalls? That's the most ridiculous claim I've read from the UK I've heard in at least three days. The irony is so thick you'd almost think the poster is, well, thick - in the British sense.
