Pros: Price, portability, functions & sound.
Cons: Only 3 band eq.

This review is of a small combo, with only one speaker, it cannot be expected to perform like a full rig and the review takes that into account.

This little box still never ceases to amaze me with its sound from a small 120w combo. The sound can be smooth, harsh, muddy or punchy mainly attainable through the Shape function and the 3 band eq. I have used this at many jam nights alongside other small combos and it has just beat the competition hands down every time. There is a balanced DI but I am unsure whether it's pre or post eq.

If you need a small bass amp for practice and small gigs, I've never found better. It'll compete with a very loud drummer at about 6 on the volume and give you a good range of sounds. Remember that it's 1 15" speaker so you're not going to get every frequency in the book but as far as I'm concerned, this is a fantastic piece of kit.

Pros: I agree with the user of the 15", but I have a 12" and the same is applicable
Cons: a little ringy

Great Product. The 12" kickback is great. I just got a steal on one from Craig's list locally, and I couldn't be happier. Great for Double bass with a David Gage pickup as well as my Fender Jazz Bass. I am sure I can EQ it perfectly to play James Jamerson out of my P bass. Great product.

Pros: Size, power, XLR output
Cons: none yet

Picked this (the Kickback 12) up a few weeks ago used. I needed something compact yet flexable. I'm practicing at home and doing small jazz club gigs with the occasional outside festival or party.

It doesn't weigh a ton and is fairly easy to carry around. Indoors, it is plenty loud enough to cut through any mix. Outdoors, I run it through the PA and use it tilted toward me as a monitor. The tone shaping is a neat feature that I'm still playing with. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but then again, I didn't go broke trying to buy it.

As such, I'm really happy. This is my second Hartke product. My first (a HA1400 head) was indestructable. I'm hoping this is, too.
