Pros: bright sound
Cons:

First set of strings from mfg, woke the bass up. Like the color coding of the strings, makes it easy to select the right string to put on without an eye test.

Pros: Great tone, affordable and durable
Cons: none that I could think of

D'addario nickel wound bass strings have an excellent, bright tone when you first put them on the bass. Most of that tone disappears with practice, but they still have that punchy sound. Relatively cheap, great tone...excellent for rock , hard rock...

Pros: nice and pillowy-punch!
Cons: not really any cons... i either like very heavy or light guages.

lets be honest... if you can get 'em for under 25 bucks, i say go for it. i personally only use these for metal since they have a very nice pillowy-punch. for the daddario xls, i would only grab the 55-110 set to downtune, or maybe one of the light sets to slap/pop. ive been playing for one year but i prefer the eb slinkys for that nice raw bright sound. these strings keep the original tone for longer but theyre not as bright as a fresh set of EBs. good strings though!
