It's too short to hear clearly when standing close

I've been using this cabinet for a few years now, and I couldn't be happier with its performance.
I play an active 5-string with a six-piece band, and this cab has handled every gig, indoors and out, with aplomb and gusto. This Dr. Bass cab has sounded great with a Carvin B1500, EA iAmp800, GB Shuttle 6.0, and various pre-power combinations.
The cabinet covering, akin to truck-bed liner, is a blessing; this cabinet still looks brand new after a few hundred gigs. The top-mounted handle and two recessed side handles make it very easy to load, unload, haul up and down stairs, and so forth.
The side-mounted crossover controls enable me to easily adjust the mid-range and high frequency drivers to my liking; truth be told, I've never found a setting that produced unsatisfying results. The two twelves, 6.5" mid, and tweeter sound very well integrated, and never seem to be working beyond their capabilities.
My one criticism is that this cabinet is that it is too short for me to hear myself clearly on small stages; it sounds better when I'm several feet away. It’s also too short for me to use the tip-back, rear-mounted wheels without stooping uncomfortably (I’m 5’ 9”), so I pick it up and carry it or use a hand truck.
This cabinet sounds great - the low B is never anemic, and the octave-to-octave balance is just about perfect. It comes as no surprise to me that the 2460 has been the best selling Dr. Bass cabinet.
March 2010 edit: Buying a used Dr. Bass Cabinet is likely to be a bargain that leaves the buyer satisfied. However, given developments at Dr. Bass since I purchased my cabinet, I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone buy a new Dr. Bass cabinet.

Does not like sub bass.

I gave it a 9 because it can't be perfect, nothing can.
I play a MM stingray 5 through a GK 1001RBII. R&B, Punk, Metal, Blues, and mainly (stoner) Rock.
When I opened the package I was amazed it was so small.
Sounds better than my ampegs, avatars, hartkes.
Sounds similar to an eden 410XLT.
in sound quality only(not volme/size/weight) I like acme cabs better...for the following reason only.
The cab does not like sub bass(40hz boosts). If I boost the bass(40hz centered) knob on my bass it tries to reproduce the sound and the speakers/sound loose focus. It does not advertise that it will do these frequencies, and it does not NEED to. This is a all but useless range for 99% of bassists. Its the job the FOH Subs do.
This cab is a keeper. I have no reason to get ride of it. I just took it for a week on the road, it did great in sanctuaries, medium clubs(500 people no FOH subs ) and one small outdoor gig.
The other unhappy part of this cab is that it took 3 weeks longer to get to me than I was told it would. Its worth the wait, just be prepared to wait.
