Pros: Good highs and lows, Ton's of tonal capabilities
Cons: none

I have a 2006 MIM P-Bass with D'adarrio regular lights. I recently replaced the stock pickups and the result is incredible. With the stock pickups i was having a lot of problems static when i took my hand of the strings, thin highs, muddy lows, and only a few sounds i could get. With the Nordstrands all those problems are gone. With a slight turn of the tone knob I can get another sound, My E string has plenty of Bass but each note has definition, my D and G strings sound thicker then they used to and even if i turn the treble and tone knobs up all the way up i get no static background. I would highly suggest anyone who is looking at improving the sound of there Fender or Squire P-bass to check out these pickups.

Pros: clear, defined tone
Cons: lack of low mid fatness

Compared to the stock pickups that were in my American Standard P, the Nordstrands are much more defined/refined and produce a lower kind of bass with clear highs all wrapped in a touch of "single coilness", where as the stock ones have a bit of a fatter low mid range which causes them to be muddy when combined with their dull treble (dull in comparison to the nords). Moreover, when I bought the Nordys I thought I was getting a vintage style pickup, which it is, but it has a touch of modernness that brings a more open, clear sound. They definitely have that distinct hollow grind they are known for, and that I love very much, although at times I miss the low mids of the Fender pu. In the end, they are without a doubt better quality and they will surely bring one step higher anyone looking for this particular tone.

Pros: Very clear and even across the string. Punchy, fat sound.
Cons: none

I replaced the pickup in my Am. Std. P bass. The stock pickup sounded good but not great. I heard about Nordstrand here on Talkbass and lots of players like them so I thought I would give it a try. The pickup seemed to have less output when I first heard it then the stock pickup, but I realized that each string was more focused. The low end was tighter, the mids cut very well, and the highs have lots of snap to it. I have TI flats on the bass and I love the combo of the flats with the NP4, I get that Pino Palladino sound from "Continuum". Just Awesome.
