Pros: Cheap
Cons: No hardwear included.

i had been interested in "cheap" pickups, just to see what was out there. i couldnt find reviews on any of them, so i just started buying them. I have a few MIM Jazz and Precision basses lying around the house and decided to start trying out different parts on them.

I Purchased the Pickups at the Buy it Now price on the Bay, on Friday and had them Monday morning. Excited to install my white pickups i tore the box open excited to see them with a plastic protective film on the tops, both individually wrapped in a small box that fit them pretty snugg. There was no information with these pickups, no return address on the box, and no hardwear. so if you are considering these pups for a project bass, keep in mind you will need some screws and some springs depending on the set up of your bass. Installation was easy, each pickup has two wires (standard jazz) and each was pretty spot on as far as fit. The bridge pup was a little tight, so i ran a piece of sand paper up the "E" side of the cavity a half dozen times, to give it some breathing room, and i was good to go.

now, the sound: If i told you i was blown away, i would be a liar. what i will say is that these pickups are fairly hot, and very clear. a nice strong Jazz tone. i have some QPs that i had in there as well as a couple of dimarzios, and they are just as hot/loud... and sound just as good.

I wouldnt say these pickups were a huge improvement over others when it comes to tone, but they are deffinately par. i am quite pleased with them and would absolutely recomend them OVER comparable more expensive passive pickups.

i gave them an "excellent" rating, because i paid $57.99 each for pups that sounded almost identical, and i got the pair of these for less than thirty dollars to my door over the weekend.
