Pros: tight sound, horn, excellent construction
Cons: no silver grille in aus, PRICE

After extensive research into tyring to find which cab i suited my sound the best i decided on the mesa 6x10. I only picked it up two days ago and only practiced with it once but this thing was the perfect cab for me. I run it through a mesa 750 big block amp and an esp five string and it is amazing. The first thing that you notice on this cab is the construction it is absolutley flawless and in my opinion the toughest looking cab on the market. Upon plugging it in is where it really justifies the huge price tag. i plugged this cab in with all of the horn controls on flat and was straight away impressed by the very tight rich bass tone, coupled with the big block head it reporduces an amazing coloured sound. Once i adjusted the horn settings which are minute but effective adjustments i was ready for practice. I like my sound with alot of treble and a considerable amount of mids for tone and pick attack so it was important for me to get a cab with an extremely good horn and none of the cabs that i tried that you can get in australia go anywhere near the quality if the higher freqs like mesa (i really wanted to try the berg, epifani among others not available easily in aus). At practice the 6x10 sat perfectly in the mix no hint of booming like my previos cab just a MASSIVE amount of bass and tone and most importantly for me a treble/pick attack sound that was not overpowering and fit in with the music. After pracice i told the boys to get the ear protection because i wanted to have some fun i wasn't really game to push it past half way on my first practice with the cab but by that stage the guitar player was complaining of blurred vision due to the amount of air being pushed by this thing i think that is enough about the power of this cab. what truly impessed me about the high volume running was the cab still sounded very tight and responsive and that was playing low A!!!!!!!!!!!This cab is not a flat reproducing cab it has a specific tone to it which i have found across the board with the mesa gear if that tone suits the style of music you play this is probably the perfect cab for you but this cab is not suited to all styles of music in my opinion is not the most versatile of cabs but for me is nearly custom built in the way it produces my sought after sound and plenty of it too. When reading the reviews about 6 and 8 speaker cabs nearly all boast a massive loud bass tone and when you but 6 or 8 speakers in one box that is what you are going to get. more importantly is the voice of that sound and i feel for any of the rock, slap and metal genres the powerhouse 6x10 is perfect. The only reason that this cab did not get top marks was that you can't get the silver grille in australia and that it does have a very high price probably better value in america but because we are so far away it costs alot of money for them to import the gear but i just paid it willingly because my perfect tone really is worth that much to me.
