Pros:

HUGE power, big low end
|
|
Cons:

It's a Behringer
|
|
Behringer does a lot of reverse engineering. Some of the best values out there are Behringer. Some of the biggest pieces of garbage are too.
This one, I'm told, is a clone of the QSC RMX 2405.
I was hugely skeptical, but in the end, this power amp is perhaps the best $350 I've spent!
I do occasionally push my gear, and this thing has taken it. I've used it regularly for about 2.5 years. Good clean tone, tons of power, pretty heavy (but not too bad).
So, I really do like it a lot. I would give it a higher rating than an 8, but I'm deducting one point for worrying that it's going to explode. I guess that's Behringer's karma.
Big power, low price.

Pros:

Powerful,
|
|
Cons:
|
Weight, Fan noise, Not reliable!
|
|
Its so powerful that I use 1 channel for my amp & the other channel to run an entire P.A. system to play along to.
It doesn't distort my sound at all.
The fan is a little loud when absolutely quiet but never is a problem for me. I've never had another poweramp so I can't say if its louder or quieter than others.
Heavy like other poweramps at this cost
UPDATE: The amp is now BROKEN! My channel 1 power control knob doesn't do much anymore. Even when the knob is at zero it sends the signal to the speakers & its pretty damn loud. The signal light goes on while im playing even on zero! If I turn the amp channel 1 power control from 0 to 26 its a little louder but not much... because at zero its already loud!!!
Channel 2 works right which is that zero power means no noise, no signal until I turn it up. When I turn channel 2 power from 0 to 26 the difference in volume is huge.
Heres the funny thing:
Using the signal input light (and my ears)
Channel 1 volume at 0 is exactly equal to that of Channel 2 volume at 20.
Channel 1 & channel 2 are exactly equal once they are both set at 30
This amp has been in a rack & never abused so I'll be getting a QSC next.
I'll give it a 3 because it did make 2 years flawlessly & still does run my P.A (I just have to mute at the board & be very creative to match volumes at each channel)
------------------------------ Money printing to utopia !!! Way to go Ben !!
