Very straight ahead solid state bass amp with controls that work and all the features you absolutely need. The 5.2 edition apparently resolved a design problem of overheating via more heatsink and more aggressive fan. I think they did something with the countour control.
A very pleasant shock was a fairly long checklist where they actually checked the thing prior to shipping. Even the boutique mega buck folks seldom do that.
Seems very solid without being a total boat anchor. Yes I own a Mesa 400 plus and some exotic component stuff and I do think it does sound better than the Warwick does. I don't think though it sound painfully better. Nice minimalist setup that may not cover all you want but it appears it would cover what you need and at 500 rms at 4 ohms I suspect with proper cabs would be loud enough for most any gig as it has a good XLR out DI.

Usually five string with or without frets.

I should add the people at the mix board, who hate most everything, like it. It is solid and quiet. The tone controls are nicely placed and intuitive. A 15 point inspection sheet comes with it!
I am very impressed with the thing and you will have a hard time finding something at this price that comes close. Quite a revelation as I always thought of Warwick as a maker of basses that appeared to be well made but I never cared for much.
