Pros: Be prepared to be heard because there is no hiding in the mix when your playing through this amp.
Cons: no quite as warm as WT series,

I actually have the lower powered RS400. Same FET pre-amp, but max 400 rms watts at 4 ohms on the RS400 instead of the max 700 rms watts at 2 ohms on the RS700.

Great clear sound, excellent EQ (bass, middle, treble) that you'll hardly use at all along with a semi-parametric EQ so you can "dial in" a room. 15db cut and boost on EQ controls so a little goes a very long ways (you'll run close to flat on all of them). Has adjustable level pre/post DI, a distortion control and enhance control as well as by-passable compressor. If the room isn't messing up your sound, you can use the Semi-parametric to boost frequencies around 2.2K for an edge to your tone, or down at 550 for a warmer jazz/reggae, as well as any frequencies above, below or in between them to get whatever sound you are looking for. A little goes a long way as this is an active control with 15db of cut or boost (2 clicks is a lot).

Gain control with gain light lets you set the optimum gain and you can use the -12 pad for active basses if you need it.

Enhance control is basically a low/high boost with mid scoop. It's also foot switchable so you can use it for any solo work you do, but bypass it to cut through with the mids you need when you're in the mix. Footswitch also has mute control so you can tune quietly (head has tuner out jack). Distortion is tube type distortion and not really very dirty.

You can also use the headphones jack with speakers being hooked up, as well as use the headphones jack to run into the "effects in" of a slave amp, bypassing the slave amps eq. This works very well and once you've balanced the output of the slave amp, your Nemesis controls both amp's volume and tone. Not that you'll need to do that with the 700 since it puts out 700 rms watts at 2 ohms. But I do it from time to time with my RS400 and it works just great.

When I bought my RS400, street price was $449 and the RS700 was up around $699. Both are discontinued because Eden made a cosmetic "upgrade" in them. Don't see any more RS400's around but you can pick up an RS700 for $499 in lots of places. Or, you can pay $200 more for the same amp with different cosmetics. Any way you go, you will LOVE this amp.

Pros: plenty of power
Cons: find it difficult to get a good tone. has a "closed" sound

a resonance control for this amp would be a good addition. as mentioned I find it almost impossible to get good tone out of it. eq controls are limited: bass, mid, treble and a semiparametric. very "midrangey" sound not characteristic of my instrument.

Pros: Clean & modern, yet also phat, punchy, ballsy tone that penetrates
Cons: A bit heavy

When I first created the listing for this amp, more than two and a half years ago now, the RS700 was still in production, still on the market. Since then, Eden has discontinued it - along with its smaller sibling, the RS400. It has since released the Eden "WT" branded version - dubbed the WTB700 - with virtually identical specs...at nearly twice the price.

A pity. These Nemesis heads were - and still remain - one of the real sleepers in solid-state, mid-powered bass heads. A great, largely-undiscovered bargain. And a great modern rock amp.

I won't go into details of all the features - other than to say that you get a lot for the price. I will say that if you favor a clean, powerful, versatile FET amp head with both crunch and punch, you'll love the RS700. Pick one up on the aftermarket soon as you can - before they're gone forever. They rock.

Pros: Clean and powerful
Cons: Heavy

Love the sound I get out of this head. Like already said, it's very clean and modern. I play alt rock. If you're looking to have to ask your guitarist to stop playing so other people can hear you, go elsewhere. With this head I'm able to cut through the sound and keep a nice solid bass tone.

The only downside to it is the weight...but I'm able to live with that to keep the sound I'm looking for.
