Pros:
Clean sound, no added noise, very "analog" sounding delay
Cons:
Some of the controls are counterintuitive
I picked this up for $30 used and couldn't be happier for the money. It has 4 basic controls (time/repeat/tone/level) that offer surprising variety.
The 440ms delay time is pretty generous, and the controls are very responsive, they are not, however, immediately intuitive. The "time" control decreases repeat time as it is turned to the right. (longest delay time is full left). A little confusing at first, but once you realize it, no problem.
Out of the box there are marks by each control knob, and when set at these marks you get an immediately usable delay that is easily adjustable.
But how does it sound?
While it's not a $300 boutique delay, it sounds great. The sound quality rich and deep, far better than I was expecting out of a $30 pedal. Very low noise form this one (if any) and while it is primarily a digital circuit, it replicates the warmth of an analog circuit very well.
This brings me to my only real gripe. It's advertised as analog, labeled as analog, and marketed as such, but it's digital. I have nothing against digital delays, and this one in particular sounds great, but a little more transparency here would have been nice. Methinks, however, that after reading the manual this might be just as much a language issue as a calculated marketing scheme!
