I bought this basically because it was a steal.. got it for $300 with 2 packs of Rotosound Strings included.
I used to play a custom Conklin 7 string back from 2000-2005.. So the transition to play the 8 wasn't a problem.
As for the review..
Tuning is Low F#, B, E, A, D, G, C, high F.
It seems to be an ok bass. The electronics are good. The body is comfortable but it weighs 11lbs.
I gave the fretboard a good fret dressing and it helped it play much better..
Really how much can you say about a $300 8 string bass..
For the money it's a very playable novelty bass...
some reviews I have seen say that the low F# is too flabby, but mine is great.
Maybe I just got lucky..
I would recommend this bass for anyone interested....
Stay away from the Tennesee line though, those are bad news..
Galveston. good job.

Cons:

nothing yet

Just bought it and it seems excellent, normally play an Overwater 7. Yet to be gigged will do a rehearsal next week then a gig. But may gig it this week for a few songs. Close string spacing, excellent for jazz. A tenth the price of the 7.
