It's a great smaller bodied neck thru active bass. Extremely comfortable to play, not too heavy (at least mine isn't). I got mine on Ebay for half of what they go for new. I should ad that mine is outfitted with an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp (this is an upgrade option). Tons of headroom with no noise! Best sounding preamp that I have ever used. This is a very rich sounding bass with solid bottom end, lots of clarity. IMO the alder back adds warmth to the sound, still has growl but not too aggressive. Solid construction, good fretwork, killer design. Love it!
