Pros:
|
Very pretty & low price. Small size & short scale make it easy to play.

|
Cons:
|
Pickup is uneven on mine, E string is quieter than the other strings. Tuners are second rate.

I bought this new in 2006 on eBay for $150. It's since been discontinued. It's also called the Johnson AXL, or Johnson by AXL.
I was looking for a good inexpensive acoustic bass, and I chose the AG-700-BC over others for it's positive aspects: Very pretty & low price. Small size & short scale make it easy to play.
Jumbo bodied bass' are really big, this is more of a 000 grand concert than dreadnaught sized.
The bookmatched Sitka Spruce top, and the bookmatched Honduran Mahogany back and sides were and are amazing at this price. I can't believe they're solid, but they sure look solid, the wood grain inside the body matches the outside.
A great guitar for the parlor, you'll play it allot. Don't be skeptical, buy it.
