Pros: Really bright and fresh sound. Great for slapping and for aggressive playing.
Cons: The E-string sounded a bit hollow

As I started stringing the new D\'Addario set, I anticipated a big leap forward qualitywise, compared to my previous set, the GHS Bassboomers. Immediately when I put them on I could feel the difference. The tone was incredibly bright and suited my playing style more than well (I keep my strings pretty low). But the sound of the E-string kind of dissapointed me; it didn\'t sound as new as the other three. Nevertheless, I recommend these strings to everyone.

Pros: Bright, clear tone, smooth feel.
Cons: They go dead all at once.

They feel great! They are nice and clear but I prefer them after a month when the brightness wears down a bit. They are always consistent, set after set. Very good tone and they can be manipulated to sound crisp or thumpy and warm. They are easy on your frets which I like. Five string sets have a great B string even on 34 inch scales. They are easy to play too, your fingers and hands don't get fatigued.
All around these strings are an industry standard. Even if you favor another brand and the store happens to be out of your fave, you can always get a set of D'Addario's. These have become my favorite string and I use them on almost all my basses. XL 170-5's are my guage.

Pros: Best sounding strings I've ever used
Cons: Don't last long at all

Great strings if you can afford to change them every week. Don't last long.

Pros: Great Tone
Cons:

i love these strings. they really give my basses a great tone. i also like that they don't have all the finger noise like steel strings do. Get the EXP coated version of these strings and they'll last longer. they cost more, but its worth it. i liked them better than DR lo-riders.

Pros: Bright tone, Good feel
Cons: Wear down quickly

I got 'em at a discount, and they surprised me in a good way! They put more life into my sound, and are my default choice now. They can't compete with Elixirs sound-wise, but are an excellent product for this price.

Pros: Great upgrade in tone
Cons: Nothing... yet

These are above and beyond the GHS Bass Boomers I used to use. All the strings sound great and have a very nice tone for slapping. I never thought strings could enhance tone that much, but they do. I used only kind of like my tone, now I love it. I think i'm a D'addario guy now.

Pros: Solid tone. Hit the sweet spot within a week to 2 weeks
Cons: Weakish E and B strings when compared to the heavy hitters

This is a solid string at a great price that is nearly unbeatable.

They don't last the longest. But last a long time.
They aren't the brightest. But are pretty bright.
The E and B string aren't as tight and defined as some. But are better than most.
I will say they FEEL great. I could play on these strings for hours upon hours.

But they don't do anything wrong. Like a great 6th man in the NBA, they can do everything well, aren't the best at anything, hardly any weaknesses.

Pros: Price
Cons: Feel

I gave this strings a try for their popularity and relatively low price.
For me, this strings feel too rough for a nickelwound and die quickly, and even brand new their sound isn't great.
I bought a 40-95 set for tapping, slapping and ease of playing; they weren't enough flexible for my taste.
Anyway I must say that they are not bad, especially for the price, so it is possible that they fit your needs.

Pros: super bright tone, super smooth to play
Cons: don't last all that long (change mine every fortnight)

Sweet set of strings! Only wished they last a little longer. Still, I'm addicted to 'em.

Pros: Good tone, cheap, easy to get, easy on frets, sing less than SS.
Cons: high tension string, only last 3-4 weeks.

I put these on my Lakland DJ4 and liked them so much I put them on my 55-02 which previously had Ken Smith Rockmasters on it. I was surprised that I liked the D'Ad's better! Nice jazz bass tone! These are tight strings compared to Lakland (GHS) strings, so I believe these work best on a bass with low action.
Some have said the E and G are a little quiet so I'd raise the pickup as I currently have the pickup at E lowered a bit with Lakland strings.

Pros: High tension (vs steels), warm, even tone (not too bright or bassy)
Cons: Could be brighter, could be stiffer, they need to last longer

Now, I've used XLs on and off since I started playing and have had nothing but good experinces. Recently I put a fresh set of 55-110 XLs (tuned D) on my Thumb NT, and WOW! These strings sound better than I remember.

They're not as bright as steels or as metallic as EBs, XLs are perfectly balanced. They don't have too much treble, bass or mids. They sound just right. It's true that the E string sounds a little hollow, all D'addario E strings do, but it doesn't affect the tone.

I play a lot of Metal (mostly heavy and speed/power) and I prefer a tight, bright tone versus something warm and meaty. These strings are just about right, not perfect, but pretty darn close. They natural tone -- everything flat -- I get from my Thumb is fantastic; punchy and smooth, yet bright and defined.

I would recommened these strings to anyone, regardless of the music they play.

Edit: The tapered B string, though very good, will not properly fit a Warwick. The string will work, but the taper ends on the saddle rather than after it.
