Pros: superb tone, balanced response, incredible luthiery
Cons:

Chris Stambaugh is a very talented luthier located in Stratham, NH. you can visit him at http://www.stambaughdesigns.com

This was my very first custom designed, hand-made instrument and Chris did not disappoint. His customer-service is tops...he and Larry at Aero Instruments dug deep to make this bass a reality. Chris\' luthiery skills are tops...the woodwork is impeccable. The bass balances perfectly. It is strung B(.120)-E(.100)-A(.080)-D(.060)-G(.045)-C(.035)- F(.025)-Bb(.015P).

The pick-ups, even though designed to be hum-canceling, preserve the characteristic tone people expect from single-coils. Coupled with the Aguilar OBP-3 18V preamp, a smooth, rich, balance full-range sound results. Like single-coils, they are a bit more susceptable to \"noise\" in the electrical circuits...but, as many single-coil users have noted, the tone is worth it.

I\'m planning to do a new photo shoot which will include this bass, the Stambaugh 7 I have, and the 9-string Chris is currently building for me. I will post reviews of the 7 and 9 when those pictures are available.
