This is one of the few really useable combos on the market right now. It\'s got the power (320watt/480watt) you need in a live situation and it is extremely loud as a stand alone combo. I have been a big fan of GK amps for years and this system sounds so sweet with plenty of the fast, punchy sound GK made famous. And there is plenty of grit available via their BOOST circuit. When I powered this up the first time I was amazed how LOUD it is and how good the GK drivers sound in this combo. This box gets a huge amount of low end out of a 12\" driver, enough to rattle my skull, literally !
The unit is light enough to be used as your rehearsal/practice amp , which has been the problem with most combos till this point. They were powerful enough to handle the gig, but too heavy and bulky to haul around for rehearsal or practice around the house. GK has scored a major hit with their new NEO combos.
If you like the GK sound and are looking for a new rig that can function as your all-in-one rig, look into one of these! This combo is the real deal and will not dissapoint!

Tone!!, Bi-amping, "portable", loud, flexible

|
Cons:

no rollers

In a nutshell, this amp ROCKS!!
IŽm not just saying that cuz I own it, this amp has the tone to back it up.
The lows are very articulate, so even if you dial in a very dub-like tone, you still have deffinition, punchy mids GK is known for, and a cristal clear top.
Also to be noted is how flexible this amp is, you can use it for any sort of musical situation.
If you are a gigging muscician who moves around a lot and have to carry your own gear, youŽll defenitely appreciate the weight of this amp. I dont mean to say its lightweight, but other comparable combos from other brands weigh a lot more.
Oh, by the way, its loud :P It will hold its own with 320 watts in most situations, and if the venue gets too big, you can still use the very cool direct out. and add another speaker to get 480watts @ 4ohm
If your looking for something that sounds great, loud, and you can carry on your own; stop looking, this is it.

Pros:

Great sound, effective EQ and voicing filters
|
|
Cons:
|
no parallel loop, loop/tuner jacks and XLR in the front, no footswitch
|
|
I have the combo with 700RB-II head and RBX 115 enclosure but review goes for the amp only.
This amp covers most of what I expect from a good bass amp. It allows you to model your sound quite well. I especially like the contour voicing filter that I often use to scoop mids. It does not raise your volume so you kick it in and immediately have your R&B or rock sound. I only wish it was foot switchable, same for the tuner. Now you always have to run to the amp between songs or even in the middle of a song. Same for the 4/5 string voicing filter that I use when I switch the instruments. This filter also sounds great and lets your 5- or 6-string sound as deep as they are. But you have to tickle that tiny button next to the contour pot in order to engage it... (I very often forget to disengage it or kick it in...)
Another minor thing - I wish the XLR jack, loop send/receive and tuner jacks were on the back panel of the amp and not in the front. It is sometimes a bit tricky to have all the cables coming off the front of the amp. In a live situation, this means that you have 5 cables sticking in the (relatively small) front of the 700RB-II: 1 for your instrument input, 2 for effects loop, 1 for tuner and 1 XLR out. It's not a real big deal but sometime my amp looks like xmas tree ;-)
All in all, this amp rocks and sounds really really good. As I said, I only wish it was foot switchable.
