Description:
|
The full sounding XM200TC combo (Dual 10-inch / tweeter) combines ease of use with great sound. With 200 Watts of power and four-way active tone controls that offer simple yet effective tonal flexibility. New ‘Scoop’ control is more than the contour button we’ve used in the past.
The XM200TC Scoop is a user controlled tone shift that adds additional bottom end, increased high end presence and a notch in the midrange that creates a whole new tone pallet for the bassist. Unlike the ‘Contour’ button we have used in the past (basically a contour on / off switch) the scoop control allows the player to control the overall depth of the effect.
Professional bass players will appreciate the fact the XLR balanced direct output is selectable pre or post EQ, and a tuner output has been added to the XM200TC’s front panel. An overall system mute, switchable limiter, and extension cabinet output has been added to the XM200TC combo as well.

This is the best amp ive ever played. The 200 watts through 2 10 inch speakers kicks butt. The sound you can get from this amp is amazing quality. It has everything i need. I used it for recording the weekend after i got it and it sounds amazing. It has everything i need as a bassist. It overpowers my guitar players 120 watt amp and can be heard well over the drums. I recomend this amp to anyone and everyone.

Loud enough to be heard over drums and guitars

Cons:

Not recommended for active pickups Amp tends to overdrive itself when turned up to 10

It's an over all pretty damn good amp. I find it using the -6db input with active pickups and turning your pickups up a bit over half on the bass the sound gets overdriven and pop sounds are made. But really its GREAT with passive pickups. The sound is good with active or passive just active you got to watch your levels. Works great with pedals. Effects loop is great. Headphone jack so you dont piss off your parents. I recommend this amp to anyone who wants a cheap 200W amp and wants to be heard.

A bit honky if you aren't careful.

I got this amp to leave at a house gig I do on a regular basis. Other bassists use it too, so I wanted to get something inexpensive, rugged and good sounding. I checked around and found this to be the best deal.
It's got two tens which sound nice, but I find myself wanting more from the low end (which is to be expected). The eq is adequate, and I find it rather easy to dial in a sound with my Fender Jazz Aerodyne. I don't use the scoop much more than past 9 o'clock, but I've heard other cats jamming with a full-scooped mid and it sounds nice (it's just not my thing). I haven't been terribly thrilled with the sound of my SR5 through it, but my Sterling sounds pretty good.
I'm giving it an 8 based mostly on a cost/benefits ratio. It's not as aggressive a tone as like, but it is definitely nice in its own right.

While other bass amps have come and gone from my collection, this one always stays. Use it live with an extension cab and it kills. Nice tone, although not too much super low end, but I don't need that anyway as I play a Bongo and can dial it in if need be. I usually set everything flat and go from there. I play in a 3 piece loud rock band and never go above 3-4 on the volume. The line out and tuner mute are nice features.
