For the money, this is an amazing little box. It's all metal, except a few plastic knobs which are small (for your fingertips) and embedded in. It has an amazing sound quality. I'm not a pro bass player, but I can tell that the effects and amp models sound pretty good, if not awesome. I use it on stage to beef up the borrowed Squier I gig with nowadays (after my Yamaha died) and it really works great (kinda like a sansamp in a way).
It has a tuner of course, mute and bypass modes, effects are editable and saveable, the drum machine is the best you will ever find at this level (way better than digitech), the patch change is a matter of milliseconds (you don't even notice the delay which makes it feasible to change effects in the middle of a song). It's small and not heavy.
The only con I could find is that there's no expression pedal, but there is a jack for it. This does not have USB -I don't need USB that's why I chose this over the more expensive one with the pedal.
Very little if any noise, too. You can practice with headphones. I use it as a stage tuner and to beef up the sound when I don't bring my sansamp. Great little device, amazing bang for the buck. Just get one already. Can help you in many ways even if you're fairly advanced. I used to not like zoom pedals but they really nailed it this time.

Pros:

great sound, solid construction

Cons:

I wish it included the USB port, but oh well, you can't have everything.

I've been playing bass for twenty years. I've used a number of effects boards/pedals and I have to say I've been very impressed with the Zoom B2. The metal construction gives it a solid dependable feel when you take it out of the box. It just seems like it will survive on stage, unlike many of its plastic counterparts (including earlier zoom pedals).
It sounds awsome. I was not dissapointed. The effects are top notch. There are great presets that sound good as soon as you plug in. And of course there are many that are way over the top to the point I would consider them unusable, but if you dial back some of the more exotic effects you can get some very nice sounds. The amp/cabinet sims give a nice varity of tones and I like the compressor and chorus effects.
I was most skeptical of the built in drum machine and honestly I almost didn't buy the pedal because of this feature. It seemed so gimmicky and cheesey to put a drum machine in a bass pedal. I have to confess I love it. I dialed up a nice beat and just started jamming with it. It's a superb practice tool. The sounds and the beats are not cheesey at all.
I read other reviews from other forums and some people noted that its kind of hard to put it in bypass/tune mode. You have to hit both pedals at the same time. Unless you have very small feet (mine are size 9) or play barefoot, I can't see how this could be a problem.

Great for travel! All the effects in one!

Cons:

Weak drum machine

This is one of the first multi pedals and its been treating me so well now all i do is try and make the sound from my bass come out as some aliens talking hahaha.
Overall this product has saved me many long boring road trips and plus it takes AA size batteries! Now that i have many good times with this product! I do recommend this to all the people who are seeking fun and effects in one box.
The drum tracks are not that lame, but you do get tired of a 4/4 beat and if that then its got 3/4 and 5/4 beats as well.
www.myspace.com/gcjamz i got some of the effects recorded on our site if you want to hear some alien talk!

Pros:
|
Great effects, strong enclosure, easy use after reading the manual
|
|
Cons:
|
Need to refer to the manual when making your own effects, compressor is terrible.
|
|
Effects are really good, compressor is not the best. This pedal works best with passive or low output active basses, as the effects and amps sound abit synthetic and fake when used with a high output bass. The fretless effect is really really nice. It is worth the price. Drum machine is a good feature and does sound decent.

Multi-effect, drive, ZNR - all in one

Cons:

No USB-port

It's a pleasure to listen to and it's easy to find the settings and sound, you want. For the value, it sounds great! Especially the drive-settings are great. The presets are mostly for fun, but who needs them anyway? It's definitely worth the money.
