Description:

Same as the original but with some extras!
It's added an effects loop and attack response switch. The loop lets you place an additional effect between the unit's preamp and filter section without changing the envelope drive. The added switch lets you choose between a slow, smooth, vowel-like attach and the fast, snaked response of the original Q-Tron.

Volume jump when ON, Not reliable

This is a great box. I love the funky sounds i can get. It's like an upgraded Mutron III. The effects loop is really useful as well. It adds many more options to your tone in your loop. There is a noticeable volume jump when it's ON.
EDIT- Mine just died on me. I have to send it back to get repaired out of warranty. I've had this for little over a year. Bummer.

oh my gosh.
someone light a match, it's a little TOO funky in hyunh.
put it in "mix" mode (bandpass blended with original signal), put the response on "slow," set the range to "low," drive "up," tweak the knobs to match with your particular bass....
oh my gosh.
see the "positive aspects" part of this review for an idea of how this funk might be described.
one bad thing, it's huge. very big. monstrous. EH has started making smaller versions of some of their famous pedals... maybe this one's next?
another thing, it stopped working correctly less than half a year after buying it. no biggie, it got fixed and all's good, but it was pretty annoying.
this is one of the best sounding filters i've had the pleasure of using. i have a maxon af9 on my board now... i got it cheap, and it's much smaller... and although it sounds really nice, it's more subtle than the qtron+. if the two of them got married and made a smaller, UltraFunk baby, that would be REALLY nice... they'd probably actually call it UltraFunk, come to think of it.
bottom line: qtron+ = awesome.

Warm, dirty, greasy, dig down low funky sounds

Volume boost...

I actually have two of these pedals. I've experimented with running them into each other along my chain. I old run one now. Great pedal... The volume jump when you step into gets a little annoying because you're always having to do a quick little twist on your guitar...
I run it a little differently now. I have a dirty and clean channel on my preamp (Ampeg SVP-BSP), and run my FX loop on my dirty channel. So when I kick it in, I've still got my clean sound blended into the mix. I've found that this allows me to compensate for the pedal because I can turn that effects channel down a smidge.
Anyway, want to say it's a great pedal. I also have an EH Bass Micro Synth too.
