I got this cabinet from Milford Music in Milford CT. They have kind of a Bag End \"cult\" there, and it\'s easy to see why. It took me quite a while to warm up to the idea of using a 15 again, not to mention that the cabinet is so small. I was also a bit put off by the fact that the design has been around for quite some time and didn\'t represent the \"latest and greatest\" in bass cabinet technology. Mike Nunno, (the owner of Milford Music) lent me one of his when i needed to play a small gig and couldn\'t fit my SWR 4x10 in the car with the family. I only played at low volume but was pretty impressed and ended up getting one later. It didn\'t take too long to realize what a fool i had been. Not only could the S15-D keep up with my 410 volume wise, it sounded unreal! This is easily the punchiest and most articulate 15 around. Not only that, it can handle a load of watts as long as you\'re prudent with the volume settings. I run mine at anywhere from 400 - 1500 watts. The low end isn\'t as big as on larger cabinets, but it handles a low end eq bump well. Two S15-D\'s have more than enough low end, and keep up with a marshall plexi 100 watt super lead. The coaxial version of this cabinet (S15X-D) has a crossover and coaxial \"tweeter\". This is cool if you want the extreme high end, but the S15-D actually stays pretty articulate up to about 3 kHz or so. Simply put, the Bag End is my \"desert island\" cabinet. If i had to choose just one cabinet to use for the rest of my life, this would be it.

I was a full stack guy until I bought this cab. I used to carry around a 1x18 with a 4x10, all huge, heavy, expensive. While the wall of sound was nice, my back hated them.
I picked this up for small gigs and practice, but it\'s now the only cab I use.
The only issue I have is that the small size is akward with a rack size head, as the head is wider than the cab. Oh, and the side handles are solid, but it really requires both hands to carry, which for me is a downside, as I used to carry my full stack, amp, and bass in one trip (I\'m not a little guy, persay). I was hoping the small size would mean a free hand for doors... oh well.
This cab would go great with a Walter Woods head, if only I had the cash. Pick one up if you can...

I have been using Bag End 15 cabs for 7 years on over 150 shows a year and I have been very satisfied with the sound and portability. One cab is plenty for most situations, and two with the right amp (eden wt-800 in my case) is money! If you think you know what a 15 cab sounds like try one of these and be pleasantly suprised.

I've had my S15-D for a few months now, and thought I should review it here. I had read many glowing reviews on this workhorse cab. I came across a good deal on a used one.
It's a very small, loud cab! It sounds exactly like a bass cabinet should sound- not like a 3-way home stereo speaker, or like a PA cab. The tone is very rich, deep, mellow, and musical. I can feed it very small watts, from a variety of amp sources, and the Bag is very happy and makes a big bass sound!
The cabinet is easy to move with the side handles mounted sideways, so you can carry the cab easily against your body. It's so compact, it fits in front seats, trunks, wherever in your vehicle, and goes right off with you.
It's just a simple, extremely well constructed cabinet that also makes your bass sounds like a bass ought to. Not twangy, not girly, but powerful and deep.
The only thing I didn't like about the cabinet was that it does not come from Bag End with Speakon inputs. Bag End sells replacement jack plates with Speakons, and will make one for any S15-D cabinet owner. It's an exact replacement, even with the serial number stamped in! The replacement plates are $36 and are a worthwhile investment. I bought one for the S15-D and was glad I did.
These are classic bass guitar cabinets. Whether you buy them used or new, they will keep their value and last a long time!

Just purchased 2 of these cabs to replace an overrated 4x10 monster, and I'm sure glad I did! Tone of these little twin 1x15cabs is very sweet, full and punchy without too much high end. Works great for a variety of music, best in small to medium rooms. A great match for my Thunderfunk 500 watt amp, just tone for days!! And I love having the option of just bringing one cab for those occasional tiny stages. Cabs appear to be very well-built, no rattles or other unwanted noise. Very happy with my purchase!!

Best bang for the buck. Articulate punchy 15 cab. Use 1 or 2 as needed. For those of you who think you need tweeters, 10's, or 12's for a clear and punchy bass sound give a listen to Jaco live......18's gents!. ...or Jeff Berlin who uses 15's and no tweeters.
