Description: The Aguilar DB 359 is a 2-rack space powerhouse of fat, warm bass tone. The solid steel chassis means this amp will be on the road with you for a long time. The DB 359's preamp design employs the same tube gain stages as the world famous DB 680. Also, the DB 728 amp design was used in the power section of the head. These features combined with Aguilar's reputation for quality in design and manufacture make the DB 359 Bass Head an important milestone in bass amplification.

Pros: Wonderful Tube Clean Tone
Cons: None

This head is amazing. Great clean tube tone, you can overdrive the tubes some if you like that sound as well. 2 rack spaces and 50 lbs., makes a decent sized head. 200 watts is enough for medium sized gigs and below. I love this thing!

Pros: harmonically rich tone
Cons: weighs 50 lbs!

I've been using an swr sm400s for the past 10 years or so. Thought it was great back in the day: 400+ watts and it only weighs 18 lbs. Love the eq for notching out bad room frequencies. But recently it's been sounding rather thin. So I've rented an Aguilar DB 359 for a month. Took it to a gig and the rest of the band freaked out. Said the bass (a precision, with bart cb pup, built by Mike Kinal) never sounded better. Not louder, just fatter and more present. I'd add punchy to the description. Playing through an Eden 2x10 xlt. Really don't want to drag another 50 lbs around and am worried about the durability of an all-tube amp... but I do love the sound.

***

Update: After renting the amp for a month decided to buy it and new road case for it. Absolutely love the tone! Now looking for the ideal speaker cab to compliment it.

***

Update: After a year and six months regular use have had no problems with this amp. Still love the tone. Re-tubed with Tungsols and it sounds even better, tighter, brighter, still warm and fat. Bought a Bergantino hs210 cab to use with the amp. Combination is massive yet portable and sounds great.
