Pros: Extremely well built and versatile instrument
Cons:

The body has a Quilted Mahogany top and back (it\'s a beautiful golden-brown color). The core is made of Primavera -- a wood that is light in color and lightweight and sounds like Alder but with more punch. Between the top/back and core are accent laminates of maple and walnut to lend detail and contrast.

The original pickups were Aero handwounds and have been changed out for Has-Sound (Stan Hinesley) hybrid plus (no noise) handwound pickups in a passive system. A split P-bass pickup at the neck and a Jazz-bass pickup at the bridge. There is a volume, balance and tone knob with a pull out mid cut. These pickups rock!

Bridge: Heavy-duty string-through-body chrome Gotoh.

Tuning machines: Chrome Gotohs vintage style tuners.

Pickguard: Pearlescent white -- it has nice contrast against the Quilted Mahogany. The finish consists of 12 coats of Tung-oil.

I recently removed the pickguard to have a peek inside. The control cavity and p/u routes are shielded as is the back of the pickguard. Even the pickguard screws attach to threaded inserts in the body!

The neck is a "Jazz" width maple neck with an ebony fingerboard. The finish of the neck and frets is amazing. The back of the neck is finished in a satin finish that is smooth and fast.

The balance of the bass is perfect. It weighs in at about 9.5 pounds.

Devon was easy and accomodating to work with. The quality of the finish is top-notch. I am truly pleased with all aspects of this bass. I still smile everytime I pick it up. :-)
