Besides Sadowsky, who is making 5-string jazz-style basses with a 1.75" nut width and 19mm string spacing at the bridge?

I prefer 1 3/4" over the typical 1 7/8" at the nut. Would love to find one!

Try any of the older Yamaha BB series - the current Nathan East model will meet your needs as well. You can also order any Carvin with those specs. Sadowsky will build one, too.

Good recommendations! I forgot about the Yamahas! The Sadowsky is KILLER but it will not come cheaply!

  5. I'm not sure what the measurements are on my Rickenbacker 4003S/5 but it's a 5 string on a 4 string neck basically.

Yes. It's a special order - you can get it as an NYC or as a Metro.

CallowHill does it! Both of mine feel WONDERFUL!!!

I actually sold a killer Fender Jazz because the nut was too wide (the tone was amazing though).

  16. I missed the Jazz part of the question. :(

In my defense, it was only in the title and not the question in the post.

Thanks for the responses so far. I'm really wanting a more traditional looking bass, so that's what I mean by "jazz style" (now edited in my op). But I suppose I might consider the Stingray 5...

Does anyone actually own a Sadowsky Metro 5 with 1.75" nut width?
