This is a Framus bass from the 50's from what I can tell. I had a professional antique restoration expert refinish the bass when I got it. It was set up and has been maintained by the Double Bass Workshop. It's a 3ply laminate body. The fingerboard is a nice piece of Macassar ebony, the tailpiece is not original but it's also Macassar ebony.

It has a cutaway on one side which is pretty unique. The white binding you see is original material and not painted on. The bridge was made new for this bass and has adjusters that work perfectly. The endpin is also modern.

I have 2 stands that I can include and I can string it with steel strings or leave the current innovation imitation gut strings on it. It is a real eye catching bass-people used to take pictures of it and it made it on to some CD cover art as well. The bag I have is an older Mooradian-it still works.

    Looking for $1599
pickup only. I can drive to meet a buyer.

    go to track 13
this bass is on other tracks but it's on this for sure.

I believe i had all gut strings or gut/steel mix on this session. the wound/plain gut mix on this bass sounded pretty killer and it roared.

A little over a thousand out of my price range. Since I don't play upright any type of regularly, just cannot justify the expense at this time.

Thanks! I have shipped before in the USA. I could check on that-I have a friend that runs a doublebass shop here. Maybe I could get a box. Which shipping company do the US sellers use to ship to Europe? I used Yellow here in the states before and UPS.

Until this last post I wasn't considering shipping. I've done it before and It's a ton of work hassle. I need to see if I can get a box and then do all the work of getting a shipping quote. So I'm not sure at this point--I'll see if I can get a box and go from there.
