1964 Jazz Bass All Original

Discussion in 'For Sale: Bass Guitars' started by all_grown_up, Jul 25, 2013.

  1. I am offering this rare item for $9000 Shipped in the CONUS.

I bought this bass from Real Guitars in San Francisco in the late 90s.

I dated the pots and the neck to 64 and have no reason to believe it is anything other than all original. It has the reverse tuning keys. Original case. Also have pickup covers which look vintage but are not.

It plays well and sounds great. However, it has spent most of the last 15 years on my wall. I have a number of basses from the sixties I am selling. I plan on traveling a lot the next few years and have enjoyed having these works of art on my wall but it is time to pass them on.

I am in the San Jose California area and would be pleased to allow an interested buyer to inspect.

    That thing is a party.
  5. It is an interesting wear pattern

There is a thread on this bass in which the wear pattern is discussed. Some people thought it a fake. Others were comfortable that it was real. As mentioned, I bought it from Real Guitars in SF who is generally regarded as reputable.

    I am also selling a 1968 Rick 4005, a 1966 Vox Phantom IV and a 1963 Gretsch 6070

Cool bass. Glad to they're trading strong again.

With all the fancy gear available there's something great about an old Fender like this.

    Good Luck
