1965 Ampeg B-18-N Head (Ser# 001xxx) Sounds incredible and needs nothing. This is an early (3rd year of production) Ampeg B-18-N head in reasonable cosmetic condition and impeccable electrical condition. I purchased this amp in 2010 and in early 2011 the amplifier was completely gone over electronically by a professional - me; Eyelet board was cleaned and baked to remove moisture All power supply capacitors replaced All eyelet board mounted passive components replaced Grid stop resistors added at sockets Tube sockets re-tensioned & cleaned All jacks/pots cleaned All signal wiring shielded 3 prong grounded AC cord installed Polarity switch (aka 'Deathcap') removed from power circuit 8 ohm transformer tap connected to an isolated 1/4" speaker jack There are no modifications to the chassis, and the head could easily be returned to stock condition. Tubes are: 6SL7: vintage Tung Sol (Made in USA), vintage Sylvania 7199: original Ampeg branded 7027/6L6: Russian Electro-Harmonix 6L6EH 5AR4: vintage RCA I love the amp but it deserves to be played, and it doesn't fit my current situation. $900 shipped. Price somewhat negotiable. Trades of similar value or trades + cash will be considered. Things I'd be interested in - 5 string or 4 string basses Tube instrument amps lightweight PA power amps high quality trumpets Upright bass bows Studio/recording equipment I'm also potentially open to non-musical equipment trades... my hobbies include; design/build of electronics, hunting, snowboarding, Mayan archaeology, travel.... Make an offer, I'll consider it.
