so ive got a 1971 p bass,i tried out a model p out in the bass, but i would like to put the std pickup back in ( i didnt solder the model p in, a guitar shop did) hence my thread

so the pickup i have in my hand now has that base plate with a black wire coming from it and the pickup has a read and a white wire

if anyone can tell me , what goes where?

if you have the brass plate then the black wire from your pickup coil should ground to the plate

then a ground wire from the plate grounds to your pot

white wire goes from your pickup coil to your volume pot
