    1973 Fender Precision

All original except for the chrome covers and the knobs, that's it. Original custom color black finish. No cracks, No repairs, No mods, No issues.

    • Serial # 42XXXX is right in the middle of '73.
    • Neck stamp dates to '73 (0103 0334).
    • Pots both date to '73 (137-7329 & 137-7343) and all the solder joints are completely virgin as far as I can tell.
    • Original black bottom P/Us (correct and common for '73-74 only).
The bass plays perfectly, very smooth low action, no dead notes. Fantastic neck. Truss rod functions great and still flush with the heel. A comfy 1 9/16" @ the nut. Original frets have only very minor wear, probably wore flats all its life (and has GHS Precision Flats on now).

The condition is very good, but it's a 40 year old vintage bass, so it does show some dings and scratches here and there. The back of the neck is clean. The back of the body has some marks from sitting on a cord inside the case, but that's the worst of it. The original pickguard is NOT cracked and the finish has no forearm wear (the light spot in the pic is just a reflection).

It's one of those old basses that the notes just seem to explode off the neck. It has the sound and the feel. I'm only selling to fund some upcoming medical expenses.

Includes original "tail" logo case which isn't in the greatest shape. The top has a crease and one of the sides of the top has a split. The case is fine for shipping and storage, I just wouldn't gig with it. All the latches still work, but they don't spring up any more.

And since it's always the first question around here..
8.7 lbs - with the covers on.
