1/19 price drop to 900 shipped

I have a 2004 Lakland Skyline 55-02, in 3TSB, with a rosewood board and the original USA Bartolini pickups and electronics. Bass is in great shape, some light wear but nothing I could capture in pictures. The only issue is that the battery compartment cover is broken - it stays in place but has to be opened using a screwdriver. The setup is nice and low - very easy to play.

It's a great sounding and playing bass, I just play my '02 Skyline Glaub most of the time, and am struggling to adjust to the wider spacing and longer scale of the 55-02.

Open to pretty much anything in trade - basses/amps/cabs. I do tend to prefer Fender style instruments (Fender/MM/G&L) but I'll throw that out the window for something cool. Willing to sell for $900 shipped in the continental US OBO.

    More pics at this link.

All PM"s responded to, and still available.

Finally got this on the postal scale - it's lighter than I thought at 9 lbs, 1.4 oz. Definitely balances well.

    So with that information, BTTT.

My bad. I must not have hit send on the PM. You should have one now.

Thinking in the 900-950 range, which seems to be the going value for these. Could go lower for something really cool or local.

I should have mentioned this in the OP, but I'm less interested in Precisions and black basses. Still open to offers that fit that description, but I may be less likely to say yes since I have a very nice black P-bass at home.

Edit: I'd also be willing to consider adding my '02 Black/Maple Lakland Skyline Glaub or maybe even my classic black Aguilar DB112 with Aggie cover, if somebody wants to go totally crazy with a trade. Local is better for something like that.

I've had some interesting offers, but nothing that's really hit the right spot for me.

Some ideas (not an inclusive list at all)...

    - Music Man (any model, have a little cash to throw in towards a Big Al SSS)
    - Jazz basses
    - G&L's (especially hog bodies)
    - Epi Jack Casady or Allen Woody
    - I'd still love to try out an Alien Audio bass, especially if its a double p. Could throw in some cash towards that as well if necessary.
    - Maybe even a Thumb Bolt On
    - Or a NS Design NXT electric upright
    - Open to anything, the worst I can so is say "no thanks".

Here's a bump via sound clip. The same riff is played 4 times, with the following settings (please excuse the playing, did one take and called it a day):

Everything used flat EQ on the 55-02, and a relatively flat EQ on the TH500 which I used as a DI. Pickup settings are:
    1. both pickups on with bridge favored slightly, and switch set to 70's position
    2. both pickups on with bridge favored slightly, and switch set to 60's position
    3. neck pickup full on, and
    4. bridge pickup full on with switch set to hum bucker (a la Stingray)

Although listening back to the MP3, I kind of want to keep the 55-02 now! :help: Still open to offers.

OMG - found something as close to the bass of my dreams as I'm likely to find. So this will be up for sale as well as trade unless the other bass sells.

Let's list it at $950 OBO shipped in the continental US to get things moving. No international sales for now.

All PM's returned. Some really cool trade possibilities are out there. Nothing final as of yet.

Still secretly hoping for a sale before the bass I'm fawning over gets sold.

Still, just a bump to see what else is out there.

Price drop for sale to $900. Trade value hasn't changed in my eyes, just chasing a very specific bass currently for sale elsewhere.

Locking this and relisting in a new thread - the information in this one ended up being fragmented and appears to have caused some confusion for interested buyers.
