2011 mim p bass pickup or dimarzio model p

    hi , just picked up a 2011 p bass ,(mim)
    i have a model p at home , should i drop it in ?

    what will give me a better tone for all genres, like a basic p bass tone ? is the dimarzio a better pup , with more punch etc , i want to use my p bass for everything ...

    thoughts?

    If you've already got the DiMarzio sitting there at home, why don't you just drop it in and see if it works for you? If you were wondering whether to buy one, then I could understand why you might want some other opinions, but as it stands the answer lies at the tip of your soldering iron!

    but the dimarzio is in my 71 p bass, so that means 2 p bass apart etc , the dimazio does sound great in my 71 , but that could be the wood , pots , strings etc ...

    Fair enough, but what better way can there be to spend part of the holidays than fiddling around with the innards of two basses? :)
