I've picked up a 73 Ampeg V4, which is 26.5" wide and am looking for a cabinet for it. I'm using an Aguilar Cabinet at the moment that sounds sweet, but aesthetically I can't deal with the sides of the amp hanging over the edge of the cab. I've done a bit of reasearch but am having a hard time finding any cabs that are big enough for this amp. Any options y'all can direct my way would be appreciated!

How about a 26" wide Ampeg 810? I don't think 1/2" on each would be too noticeable.

Otherwise there are several old Peavey cabs will be 26 inches or wider, at least one of their older 215's and of course that big 28" wide Peavey 412 TVX would certainly be wide enough.

Anyway, found this thread, it may help:

    Good luck.

Check out fliptops.net. They've got a cab specifically to match the v4.

    27" wide

    EDIT: cab is 26"
You could however lay it side ways like some bass players

Could always build one. Find a driver that suits you and come up with a cabinet volume using winisd. Then use the 27" width as one of your parameters. Build it the way you see fit.

  7. Use two tall cabs, on their sides?

Put the amp on the ground next to the cab, sides facing up. I've done this because Eb made something rattle in the amp, but couldn't find any loose parts.

My favorite cab, esthetically (sounds great, too), under the older V-4B's is the B-40:
