I have a request from those of you that own 8 string basses (coursed pairs)

Would you mind taking a photograph of the nut of your bass with a measuring tape or ruler next to it. I'm working on a project and it would be really helpful to have the information that such a photograph would provide.

Think of it as a christmas gift for someone you dont' know. :)

    Thanks in advance.

I would be happy to do so. Unfortunately mine (81 Washburn B-20-8) is in the shop getting a busted truss rod replaced.

I would, but the one i just bought desperately needs a new nut cut, because the D and G octave slots are way too close to the fundamental string slots. If you look at some ebay photos, you usually can find a headstock pic that you can blow up to get that detail.

    Hi Justice,

The best I can do is to pm a picture of my Hagstrom HB8 head stock, as the picture is 2736 x 986 pixels and as the resolution is 480 pixels/inch you could easily get all the measurements you need if you open the picture in a good image editor like GIMP (open source kind of photoshop that is work on Win, Mac and Linux).

If somebody else doesn't beat me to it, I will be glad to do so this evening.

I have one of those silver bass boat glitter Carlo Robelli 8 strings, I will dig it out when I get back to the house.

I tried to pm you but even in pm we can't add a file to the message so I import my picture in Photobucket and here is it so you can download it and tried the way I write you in my previous post.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas to you,

    Serge

you need to upload the pic, either using the attachment feature, or to a free photo hosting account like Photobucket and then use the [IMG]
