1. Welcome to TalkBass 2014! If you're new here, we just went through a major site upgrade. Please make yourself at home! I've deleted the previous "migration" threads, please post all concerns and bugs to the Forum Usage Issues forum. We will be monitoring that forum.

The TalkBass iphone/android app is NOT WORKING currently. We're working on it. Tapatalk IS working, so if you need to use an app, use Tapatalk. Try using your browser though - TalkBass is now 100% responsive to your phone/tablet screen size ;)

Please read the TalkBass 2014 FAQ for lots of great info on the new software.

    hey,
i've recently come to own (once i pay it off) an 86 stingray. I knew i wanted a stingray but couldn't afford a new one and this one just popped up in my price field. meant to be. Anyway i was hoping you could shed some light on these basses with comparisons to other basses, good eq options and just general comments on them, tell me everything!

    cheers.

I looooove me some old StingRays! For an EBMM Ray, I love that era in particular: wonderful glossed necks that typically came with great figuring, mute bridges, and -my favorite on a Ray- the 2 band eq.

About all I can say is don't dime the eq knobs, or it's sizzle city.

80's EBMM Basses are fantastic. High quality , affordable Stingrays.
